CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (LoudLabs CR) – On 2/28/2019, a large police presence was noticed in the area of the 4000 block of Soutter Avenue SE in Cedar Rapids, near East Post Road and Mount Vernon Road. Linn County Sheriff’s investigators and investigators from a State of Iowa agency were on the scene, as well at the Linn County Emergency Management Agency and a vehicle from an area burial vault company. Witnesses reported that the home investigators were focused on was involved in a raid this past weekend, and that authorities were seen digging out a portion of the backyard with a skid loader and other tools before a burial vault tent was placed over the area. Linn County Sheriff Brian Gardner declined to elaborate on the nature and status of the investigation, but more details are expected to be released in the coming days.
