91 Freeway Fatal Crash

At 2:10 am CHP was notified by Cal Trans workers that a vehicle lost control, slammed into a tree on the shoulder and started to catch fire. When the CHP went on scene they found a fully involved car that was ripped in half with heavy fire that spread to the tree it crashed in to. LACO Fire responded and put the flames out but it was too late for the driver involved as they did not survive. CHP will have the number 1 and 2 lanes open but have closed all other lanes and the shoulder until they wrap up their investigation.
