LOS ANGELES – LAFD firefighters arrived to a residential property just south of Cesar Chavez on St Louis St at approximately 6:45am. Upon arrival they confirmed that the detached front unit of the apartment building was suffering from a fire that was quickly spreading through the attic. While LAPD provided traffic control, the firefighters began to fight the fire in an offensive mode.
Residents of the apartment building were evacuated from their units and moved to safety. One resident was said to have been privately transported to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.
It is not clear at this time what started the stubborn fire.
