The rider of a motorized scooter was struck by a car late Thursday night in Apple Valley. The accident occurred shortly after 11:00 PM in the 20700 block of Outer Hwy 18 South. The scooter rider was riding erratically and without lights on a dark stretch of road when the driver of a dark sedan struck the rider. The driver apparently didn’t see the victim. The impact of the collision through the man a considerable distance. The driver of the sedan stay at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Paramedics from Apple Valley Fire treated the victim and they transferred to California Highway Patrol Helicopter H-80 to transport the victim to a trauma center. The condition of the scooter rider is non known. SBSO Apple Valley is handling the investigation.
