A brush fire in Apple Valley Sunday afternoon threatened a Albertsons Store and a Walmart. According to the unconfirmed reports of witnesses, the fire began when an airborne firework exploded on the dry hill side. The fire was reported around 12:40 pm near Hwy 18 and Bass Hill Road. According to the BC of Apple Valley Fire (SOT), the fire scorched between five and ten acres before being contained. Units from Cal Fire and the BLM join Apple Valley Fire units in fighting the fire. The historic Bass Hill House was also threatened by the fire.
