APPLE VALLEY: House Fire

One person was injured Tuesday afternoon when a wind whipped fire tore through an Apple Valley home. The fire was reported around 3:30 PM at a residence in the 13900 block of Monte Verde Road. Arriving units found heavy smoke showing with fire through the roof. An aggressive fire attack limited the fire to a bedroom, kitchen and garage. One victim was located during the fire fight and treated for smoke inhalation and possible minor burns. High winds in the area complicated the fire fight and pushed the fire through the attic. The cause of the fire is under investigation but initial reports stated that the fire started in one of the bedrooms of the house.
