A shoplifting incident escalated into a shooting inside the Winco Store in Apple Valley Thursday afternoon. The store is located near the intersection of Bear Valley Road and Jess Ranch Parkway. According to the SBSO Apple Valley PIO, Winco Loss Prevention workers attempted to stop a group of people as they exited the store because of a suspicion of shoplifting. A confrontation began when the employees attempted to check a baby stroller/carrier of a young lady in the group. A male companion stepped in an attempted to stop the Loss Prevention Workers. During the confrontation the male suspect removed a gun and fire a number of shots. No one was hit by the gunfire. All three adults were taken into custody. As a percussion, the baby that was in the stroller/carrier was transported to a local hospital to be checked out.
