LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – The CHP Street Takeover Task Force is funded through the Office of Traffic Safety Grant, their operation is countywide where street racing and takeovers take place. Street takeovers have become a rising issue in local communities where participants are under the impression that it’s a victimless crime. The CHP had over 40 officers tonight participating in the operation and gathered over 20 individuals participating in illegal street racing activity. An equal amount of arrests and citations were made and their vehicles impounded as well. The CHP reminds individuals participating in this sort of activity that they will be charged to the fullest extent of the law and that if they want to do it, to take it to the local tracks and keep safety in mind.
