Corona: 50 Acre Brush Fire Shuts Down Freeway

On August 25, 2019 at approximately 10:58 am, CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters, with assistance from USFS Cleveland National Forest, responded to reports of a vegetation fire near the northbound Interstate 15 X Temescal Canyon Road in Temescal Valley.
The first arriving Chief Officer reported approximately 1/2 to two acres of vegetation burning in heavy fuels at a slow to moderate rate of spread. The fire is now ten acres, burning in light grass/flashy fuels. The number three lane of northbound Interstate 15, 1/2 mile south of Temescal Canyon Road has been shut down.
UPDATE: Southern California Edison has been requested for down power lines in the area of the fire.
