CORONA: Taxi Crash Sends 3 To Hospital

Early Friday morning, May 31, 2019, the California Highway Patrol and the Corona Police Department along with the City of Corona Fire Department and AMR responded to reports of a two vehicle traffic collision involving a taxi. The crash was reported around 2:00am on Main Street at the eastbound 91 Freeway on ramp. The first arriving engine company reported a two vehicle traffic collision with a taxi overturned on its side with at least one person trapped. Firefighters were able to quickly extricate the trapped occupant(s). Three people were transported to area hospitals via ground ambulances in unknown conditions. The force of the crash caused the taxi to overturn on its passenger side ending up on the sidewalk pinned against a traffic light pole. It’s unclear if the taxi, belonging to California Yellow Cab, had a fair inside at the time of the crash. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
