Downey: Car Caught Fire After Slamming Into Building

A vehicle travelling too fast hit a tree and slammed into the watch repair store on Paramount Blvd. in Downey. Downey Police were first on scene and managed to use a fire extinguisher to extricate two people out of the car. They were both transported to local trauma center hospital in unknown condition, and was unclear if any others were trapped inside the car. This is still an active scene and police have Paramount Blvd closed between Telegraph Rd & Vista Del Rosa St. for an unknown duration.
