DOWNTOWN L.A. : Freeway Crash Traps One

A portion of the 101 Freeway in Downtown L.A. is back open after being shut down when two cars collided, trapping one person. The crashed shortly before 3:00 AM along the Eastbound 101 Freeway at Los Angeles Street, according to the CHP. Crews were forced to use the jaws-of-life to rescue the driver of a sedan. Video shows only one person treated by paramedics. The occupants of the SUV appear to have not been injured. At one point both directions of the 101 freeway can be seen shut down. It’s unclear what caused the crash.
