FOREST FALLS: Mudslides Trap Motorist

On Thursday morning November 29, 2018 continuous rain in the San Bernardino County mountains brought several rock and mud slides to the area. One area, heavily hit, was the Valley Fire burn scar area along Highway 38 north of Valley of the Falls Drive. Mud and rock slides completely closed Highway 38 in both directions between Forest Falls and Angelus Oaks. Two additional mudslides occurred along Valley of the Falls Drive trapping motorist in their vehicles with mud up to the doors of the vehicles. No injuries were reported, however, 3 motorist were stranded in their cars between two mudslides. There is no current time frame for the clean up. Motorist heading to Big Bear are asked to use alternate routes.
