CARY, NORTH CAROLINA – A motorcyclist was killed in a single vehicle accident on Highway 55. Cary Police Department responded to Highway 55 near Highfield Avenue after a motorcycle lost control and crashed. According to Cary Police the single motorcyclist crashed down an embankment and the bike burst into flames. The rider was pronounced deceased on scene. Highway 55 was shutdown while an accident investigation took place. Friends and family of the victim could be seen arriving at the scene devastated and emotional. It appears the motorcyclist that was killed was riding with another group (NOT CONFIRMED YET) as other motorcycles and riders could be seen near the scene. The identity of the motorcycle rider was not known late Monday.
