FRESNO, CALIFORNIA (LLN) On Thursday night, March 11, 2021 at around 6:52pm, the California Highway Patrol received reports of a pedestrian walking in the #3 lane of southbound Highway 99, south of Ashlan Avenue. While officers were enroute, additional 911 callers advised the female pedestrian had been struck and was down in lanes. The driver who originally struck the female, remained at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation. Several other motorists advised the California Highway Patrol, they may have also struck the female. The female was pronounced deceased at the scene. Why the female was on the freeway and walking in lanes wasn’t immediately known.
