VICTORVILLE, CALIFORNIA – A homeless man was struck on a dark stretch of Bear Valley Road Sunday night in Apple Valley. The accident occurred around 8:40 PM in the 21900 block of Bear Valley Road. The victim reportedly was panhandling in front of a liquor store just before the accident. The victim may have been attempting to return to a homeless encampment on the south side of Bear Valley Road. The man was struck in the westbound lanes and smashed through the windshield of the car that struck him. The victim can be seen lodged head first into and through the window and in the passenger compartment. Apple Valley Fire responded and pronounced the victim deceased.
