La Mirada: Box Truck vs Big Rig Crash

At 12:15 am Whittier Police responded to a box truck that had crashed into a big rig containing liquid nitrogen. LA County Fire as well as Santa Fe Springs Fire responded with heavy equipment to extricate the trapped driver of the box truck. The man was rushed to UCI hospital and the cause of the crash is under investigation. There was no threat of any spill from the big rig but Whittier Police have Valley View St closed until their investigation is complete.
