LAKE HILLS: Double Shooting With Infant Rescued By Deputies

On Saturday afternoon, June 01, 2019, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department along with the California Highway Patrol, City of Riverside Police Department, Cal Fire / Riverside County Fire and AMR responded to reports of a shooting in unincorporated Riverside. The shooting was reported around 1:39pm in the 16000 block of Jordana Circle in the community of Lake Hills. According to Deputy Mike Vasquez, With the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, when law enforcement arrived, they located at least two adult victims who appeared to have been shot. An adult female, was rushed to an area hospital with CPR in progress. An adult male, appeared to be in stable condition and was also transported to an area hospital. An infant, who was inside the residence at the time of the shooting, was rescued by Sheriff’s Deputies and handed off to a female Riverside Police Officer who comforted the infant until paramedics arrived. The infant did not appear to be injured, however, was checked by paramedics as a precaution.Two males were seen in handcuffs and a third, a juvenile, was seen being placed in an awaiting patrol vehicle. Deputy Vasquez was able to confirm that Deputies did have the suspect in custody. What led up to the shooting is currently under investigation.
