LAKE MATHEWS: Fast Moving Brush Fire

On Saturday afternoon July 28, 2018 Cal Fire / Riverside County Fire along with the City of Riverside Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a fire near Lake Mathews. The fire was reported around 3:40pm on El Sobrante Rd. at McAllister. The first arrive engine company reported 3 acres burning at a rapid rate of spread. By 4:00pm the fire was reported at 10 acres and Firefighters were making good progress on preventing the fire from jumping El Sobrante Rd. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no structures were immediately threatened.
