At 11:00 pm the CHP received numerous calls of a pedestrian walking in the slow lane on the southbound 405 freeway in Long Beach. One driver did not see the pedestrian and hit him at a high rate of speed. CHP officers tried to administer aid to the downed pedestrian but declared the person DOA. The driver remained at the scene, and the CHP is investigating. A SIG alert has been issued for the # 4 & 5 lanes for an unknown duration as they conclude their investigation.
