MEAD VALLEY: Structure & Vegetation Fire

On Sunday evening, July 28, 2019, Cal Fire / Riverside County Fire responded to multiple reports of a structure fire. The fire was reported around 5:30pm in the 18300 block of Brown Street. The first arriving engine company reported heavy fire and smoke from a structure which spread to the surrounding vegetation. According to Tawny Cabral, with Cal Fire / Riverside  County Fire, the fire spread to a second structure and 1/2 acre of vegetation including several vehicles and a rather large mulch pile. Resources from the City of Riverside and the City of Corona Fire Departments were requested for mutual aid. Thick black smoke from the fire could be seen from as far away as the City of Corona. As of 9:00pm firefighters were able to get the blaze 100% contained. Unconfirmed reports indicated several ambulances were requested to the scene, however, no details have been released regarding any injuries. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
