MEAD VALLEY: Two Car Fires 100 Yards Apart

Early Friday morning October 26, 2018 Cal Fire / Riverside County Fire responded to multiple reports of a vegetation fire in the hills. The fire was reported around 1:21am in the area of Perry Street and Decker Road. The first arriving engine company reported to separate fires in the hills behind Perry & Decker. It was later determined the two fires were a sedan and a pick up truck, both appeared to be stripped and intentionally set a blaze roughly 100 yards from each other. Firefighters were able to quickly contain the fires to the vehicles, preventing the fire from spreading to the surrounding vegetation. No injuries were reported and the incident was turned over to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department for possible stolen vehicles.
