Pacoima: Mexico World Cup Celebrations

After Mexico’s World Cup win Saturday morning, hundreds of die-hard fans took to the streets to show their support for the team. People decked out in Green, Red, and White lined the street corners near the intersection of Laurel Canyon Blvd and Van Nuys Blvd waving flags and chanting as vehicles with their own flags would honk and drive by. The demonstrations were mostly peaceful as LAPD kept a watchful eye over the crowds. However at one point a firecracker or small firework was detonated near the crowd and also one man who may have been intoxicated, began to stand in lanes and block traffic. That man was quickly taken into custody and was the only person taken into custody at this demonstration.
