CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA – At 4:50pm CMPD, MEDIC & Charlotte Fire Department responded to a shooting in the parking lot near Karate Charlotte. Bystanders who witnessed the shooting immediately performed CPR on the victim. Mecklenburg EMS transported the victim with life threatening injuries to Atrium Carolinas Medical Center. The suspect reportedly fled the scene. Police sources said the shooting happened after the two parties involved were engaging in “illicit activity.” Police sources also said the suspect stole the victims phone. Police taped off the parking lot as a crime scene Technicians processed the scene. Investigators were focused on a black Volkswagon Jetta. Multiple shell casings were found around the vehicle with the drivers side door open. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officers were speaking with a man who was possibly with the victim when the shooting occurred.
