APPLE VALLEY, CALIFORNIA – A pedestrian was struck and killed in Apple Valley early Tuesday morning. The incident occurred around 12:15 am in the 20100 block of State Hwy 18 near Rancherias Road. The victim appears to have been crossing Hwy 18 (between controlled crossings) when struck by a Dry Cement Truck and a Sedan. SBSO Apple Valley and Fire Paramedics responded. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene. The eastbound lanes remained closed for the investigation. The SBSO MAIT (Major Accident Investigation Team) conducted the investigation. Hwy 18, a major east/west thoroughfare, remained shut down into the morning ‘rush hour’ for the investigation and the arrival of the Coroner.
