On Tuesday night June 19, 2018 the City of Riverside Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a dirt bike on fire inside a storage closet at an apartment complex. The fire was reported around 10:00pm at the Park Village Apartments in the 3900 block of Jackson Street. The first arriving resources reported one unit partially involved with fire with threat to other units. A second alarm was immediately requested. Firefighters made an aggressive fire attack containing the fire to the storage unit as well as two apartment units. A total of four people were displaced by the fire, (2) children and (2) adults. The two apartment units were declared uninhabitable. The American Red Cross was requested to the scene to assist the displaced occupants. It wasn’t immediately clear how the dirt bike caught fire. Firefighters were expected to remain at the scene for several hours.
