RIVERSIDE: Mount Rubidoux Brush Fire

On Saturday afternoon, June 08, 2019, the City of Riverside Fire Department along with Cal Fire / Riverside County Fire responded to reports of a brush fire on Mount Rubidoux. The fire was reported around 1:13pm at the base of the mountain near the bike path along the Santa Ana River. Hikers on the mountain were evacuated as the fire burned up the mountain towards several people who were out enjoying their afternoon. As of 2:00pm the fire was holding at roughly 10.5 acres. One person was treated by paramedics at Carlson Dog Park in an unrelated incident. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
