RIVERSIDE: Suspected DUI Driver Drives Thru Closure Strikes Cal Trans Vehicles

On Saturday night March 23, 2019 a suspected DUI driver drove through a freeway closure reportedly hitting a couple Cal-Tans vehicles. The incident occurred around 11:11pm on the southbound 215 Freeway just north of University Avenue. According to a California Highway Patrol incident log, the female driver, of a silver Audi Q7, drove through a partial freeway closure and struck a couple Cal-Trans vehicles. The driver was given field sobriety tests at the scene before being placed under arrest for suspension of DUI. Luckily, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The female appeared to be extremely verbal with Officers at the scene and at one point pulled her pants partially down before urinating in the back seat of a California Highway Patrol unit. The partial freeway closure was due to road construction which closed the two slow lanes as well as the Blaine Street and University Avenue on and off ramps.
