RIVERSIDE: Suspected DUI Driver Slams Into Parked Cars

Early Sunday morning, August 25, 2019, the Riverside Police Department along with the City of Riverside Fire Department and AMR responded to a vehicle vs parked cars traffic collision in the city’s east-side neighborhood. The collision was reported around 2:30am in the 3400 block of Comer Avenue. When officers arrived they located a Dodge Charger which had collided into the rear of a SUV, causing the SUV to slam into a white sedan which in turn struck the SUV parked in front of it. The chain reaction crash left three vehicles totaled and a fourth with minor damage. The owner / suspected DUI driver of the Charger remained at the scene however, denied he was the driver. According to people at the scene, he claimed he let a stranger drive his car while he was in the passenger seat. The suspected DUI driver was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and may face charges of DUI pending the outcome of the Riverside Police Department’s investigation.
