SYLMAR: 210 Freeway Tanker Truck Rollover

*Time* – 2337 *Location* – 210WB, JEO 210/5 Connector *Handling Agencies* – LAFD, CHP, CALTRANS
At approximately 2337, LAFD and CHP responded to reports of a rolled over tanker possibly on fire. Arriving units found a tanker truck, carrying an asphalt creating additive, with the trailer rolled over on the side of the embankment, and the tractor separated, blocking the slow lane and shoulder. Firefighters extricated the victim driver and transported them to a local hospital in unknown condition. There was no fire, however, the asphalt creating substance was smoldering. It is unknown how many gallons the tanker was carrying. Firefighters were able to block off storm drains on the freeway and on Foothill Blvd. from the leaking substance getting into them. The 210 WB is completely shut down for an unknown duration while CALTRANS works on cleaning up the mixture, which is covering a large portion of the freeway. The cause of the crash is unknown. CHP Newhall is handling the investigation.
