VICTORVILLE: Family Shooting

A shooting inside a Victorville home has sent one man to a trauma center with gun shot wounds. The incident occurred around 9:15 AM at a home in the 14800 block of Totem Pole Street. According to a SBSO Victorville Press Release, “the victim, a 58-year old man, was at the location visiting family. The victim noticed that the suspect, his nephew, had a handgun on him and mentioned it to another family member. The suspect confronted the victim and the two began to argue. The argument escalated into a physical struggle between the two, and the suspect pistol whipped the victim. The struggle continued, and the victim was shot once in the upper torso.” The suspect then fled the scene on foot. Heavily armed deputies searched the area for the suspect but did not find him. According to the Press Release, deputies gathered information that led them to a house in the 10800 block of Sixth Avenue in Hesperia where the suspect was located, and the handgun recovered.”
