Authorities are investigating the death of a man found along a dirt path in the high desert community of Lucerne Valley. The man was discovered around 6:15 PM Thursday by a group of friends driving their pick up truck off road. They called 911 reporting that the man was ‘cold to the touch’. SBCo Fire Engine 8 responded and pronounced the man deceased. SBSO Victor Valley deputies and CHP Victorville officers responded to investigate. The cause of death has yet to be determined but another resident stated (off camera) that he had seen the man on the same path around 9:00 AM. The man is reportedly a local man who would frequently walk from his rural residence to a store in town. Temperatures in the high desert community topped 100 degrees on Wednesday.
