BRONX: Father Fatally Struck by Hit & Run Driver on Fathers Day

6.16.19 | Video by Adam Balhetchet | WOODSTOCK, Bronx (DCPI) – On Sunday, June 16, 2019, at approximately 0455 hours, police responded to a call of a pedestrian struck in the vicinity of Austin Place and Bruckner Boulevard, within the confines of the 41 Precinct. Upon arrival, police discovered a 37-year-old male with serious injuries lying on the pavement at the location. EMS responded and transported the victim to Lincoln hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Preliminary investigation has determined that the victim was attempting to cross the southbound Bruckner Boulevard service road from the west side to the east side of the street and outside of the crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle which did not remain and continued southbound on Bruckner Boulevard. The vehicle is described as a Brown or Tan Chevy Tahoe. Highway Collision Investigation Squad is currently investigating.
