RED HOOK, Brooklyn – A two-alarm fire broke out right next to a firehouse. This happened at 1 am Thursday, at 570 Smith St, within the confines of the 76th Precinct. A bystander saw the fire and called 911. Firefighters responded quickly from the firehouse next door and called for a 2nd alarm upon arrival. One firefighter suffered a minor injury. Building was a Smoked Fish establishment, which was unoccupied at the time. No civilians suffered any injuries. Cause of the fire being investigated by fire marshalls.
