BROOKLYN: Awning Collapses On Two Pedestrians

BAY RIDGE, Brooklyn – An awning collapsed on two women who were leaving a dental office located at 9412 4th Ave. Police and first responders were called a little after 5:00 p.m. Monday. Both victims were initially trapped and rescued by FDNY. They were then transported to NYU Lutheran for injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. Witness Cristian Lambert, 14, said he saw “One person at the back of the ambulance with a neck brace. Hopefully, everyone is safe,” he added. Another witness, Walter Sett, said news helicopters even surrounded the area but quickly left when they learned no one was badly injured. Officials are investigating.
