BROOKLYN: Coney Island Cop Injured Following Pursuit

CONEY ISLAND, Brooklyn – A Coney Island cop suffered a head injury while attempting to apprehend a suspect wanted for possibly possessing a gun. This happened on Thursday around 7:30 pm in the confines of the 60 Precinct. The complainant reportedly called 911 originally in regards to a perp flashing a firearm. The perp was followed by the complainant while on 911 and 60 Precinct units pursued and stopped the vehicle. While attempting to access the perp by opening the door, there was resistance with opening the door and it hit the officer in the head. He was transported in stable condition to an area hospital. Unknown if a firearm was recovered.
