BROOKLYN: FDNY Rescue of Man Struck by Subway Train at York St Station

5.4.19 | by Adam Balhetchet | DUMBO, Brooklyn – A 34-year-old man was struck by a train. It happened at 3:40 am Saturday, at the York St subway station, Jay St on the cross, within the confines of the 84th Precinct. A witness we spoke to stated cops was cleaning the benches of folks sleeping when he was awakened, which triggered him to jump into the tracks, and getting hit by the train. According to police, first responders found the victim between two train cars. There was another individual according to a first responder and witness on the scene, who ran down into the tunnel to escape. He was not found. The victim was transported in serious but stable condition to Bellevue Hospital with a leg injury.
DCPI: According to the complaint report on file: On Saturday, May 4, 2019, at approximately 0340 hours officers responded to a 911 call of a person struck by a train. A 34-year-old male was found on the tracks between two train cars. The aided male was taken to Bellevue with a leg injury.
