12.22.20 | by Adam | CORONA, Queens – A truck overturned and caught fire, shutting down the expressway in both directions. It happened just after midnight, Tuesday morning, westbound on the LIE near 97th Place. Many propane tanks exploded with fire. One of them even landed on a sidewalk on the westbound service road. FDNY extinguished the 2-alarm fire quickly. FDNY hazmat was on the scene to burn off many propane tanks.
