ORANGE CITY: 2-Alarm House Fire

CITY OF ORANGE, New Jersey – Four people including two firefighters are injured in a two-alarm house fire that started in the Valley section of Orange City Thursday morning. Around 4 am, 911 calls were received in regards to two people trapped on the second floor of 691 Scotland Road. Orange City Fire Department responded an encountered blazing flames engulfing the home. The two residents and two pitbulls were rescued and treated by EMS. A second alarm was transmitted and mutual aid was requested from at least five other neighboring Fire Departments to assist in battling the unstoppable fire. The escalated to the point of firefighters evacuating the house and conducting an exterior attack putting water on fire both from multiple ladders and from the ground. Two firefighters were injured. One of them suffered from a burn injury in the arm and the other is in unknown condition. The fire was under control by 7 am. Cause of the fire under investigation | Video Journalist: Adam Balhetchet
