STATEN ISLAND: 2-Alarm Fire Injures Two

GRYMES HILL, Staten Island – A house fire critically injured a man and a firefighter in the middle of the night. This happened at 15 Scenic Ln Sunday at 2:47 am in the confines of the 120 Precinct. A second alarm was transmitted shortly after firefighters arrived. 25 FDNY units and a total of 106 firefighters were on scene. One neighborhood resident stated the 40-year-old 400 lbs man lived alone in the house. He suffered from severe burns and was transported to an area hospital in serious condition. The firefighter suffered minor injuries and was transported in stable condition. The fire was brought under control at 3:57 am and is under investigation of fire marshalls.
