3.7.20 | Video by Jack Sorgi | BAY RIDGE, Brooklyn – An elderly woman was struck by a teen driver. It happened around 4 pm Saturday at 85th St & 5th Ave. That is where the vehicle with a young driver traveling southbound on 5th Ave made a right turn to 87th st and struck an elderly lady in the crosswalk. The impact knocked her so hard her shoes fell off. She was unable to get up. Good samaritans rushed to her aide, called 911, and was with her until firefighters arrived. The young female driver stayed on the scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No arrest or collision investigation was conducted for this incident.
