BROOKLYN: 2-Alarm Fire Injures 12

PROSPECT LEFFERTS GARDENS, Brooklyn – As per Deputy Chief Smithwick, a 2-alarm fire broke out at 693 Flatbush Ave around 3 pm Sunday afternoon. There was heavy fire on the second floor. One civilian female was evacuated via FDNY ladder. There was 12 civilian injuries and a few firefighter injuries, mostly smoke inhalation. The fire was brought under control within an hour. Cause of the fire is under investigation of fire marshals who were on scene. Unknown how many civilians displaced. Power and gas are shut off in the building.
